Flinders Island is located in Eastern Bass Strait and can be accessed by both air and sea.
Air access is available from both Melbourne and Launceston, with some of the smaller airlines offering travel from smaller regional airports. Sharp Airlines offers air travel from Essendon Airport, (Melbourne) on a regular basis. the terminal is located at English Street and easily accessed from Tullamarine Airport by taxi for a charge of approximately $35.00. The air trip takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
Sharp Airlines also offer air travel from Launceston, with the terminal being located 200 m to the north of the main domestic terminal. Daily flights of approximately 35 minutes are available and can be conveniently booked on line. The airport is located at Evandale Road, Western Junction just a 12 km drive from Launceston city.
